We worship, honor and love God by obeying His WORD, the Bible, and by loving all. Godliness lives in the application of God’s love in human relations via acts of worship. These biblical acts of worship towards God are dependent on our ability as Christians to express, show, exercise and materially demonstrate unconditional love to our brothers and sisters by judiciously meeting their needs. In addition, we must be able to share in their burden and happiness, build their faith and confidence, respect their point of view, challenge their fear, doubts, worries, including their biblical/spiritual misconceptions in due time as they are revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:42–47; John 13:34-35)
LOVE
The essence of our ministry is to Love God and love people.
A NEW THING
God is doing a new thing in our ministry as we embrace our calling to bless all men with the gospel of Jesus Christ and facilitate the practical application of God’s love by directing the blessings that He is pouring on us to the community, in every person that we come in contact with. Leading people to Christ is our goal but in the process we want to put a stronger emphasis on the humanity of our savior Jesus; how He touched lives without enticement, allowing people’s experiences with Him and their testimonies to prompt them to cultivate and maintain a long lasting relationship with Him.
CLD is a ministry that promotes, hopes and reflects growth primarily in faith but also in stature, wisdom, knowledge, physical health, mental health, emotional health, etc… We believe that as we offer our sacrificial act of worship to God, He will overcome the deficits of the physical world in our lives. As we seek first the kingdom of God, all the add-ons will follow (Mat. 6:33).
We promote a divergent view of worship that is more than preaching but tangibly reaching out, and positively influencing established world systems.
We pray, trust and thank God for making CLD a motivational force with a devotion to instill the hope of Christ in everyone by providing assistance in the areas of life where God gives us understanding and grace so that every individual’s purpose/dreams/aspiration and calling may be honored and revived; and that each would ultimately capitalize on all potentials and attain a sense of fulfillment.
VISION
Building a network that promotes, establishes, and maintains growth in the life of everyone who submits to the lordship of Jesus Christ the savior of the world through the power of the Holy Spirit intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically, and economically.
Equipping Leaders to experience, live, and share the good news in Word, worship, and through systems of services to the church first and to duplicate all successes to the outermost part of the world.
Local Mission
A support system, first for CLD members, that will provide godly services to the community and simultaneously help fulfill every CLDian’s purpose in life.
Global Mission
A network that will provide godly services to our immediate communities and countries around the world and simultaneously help fulfill every Christian’s purpose in life. This network will be left behind to provide for those who will take their walk with Christ seriously after the rapture.
Applied Love
In the church, we strive to reach the application of God’s biblical love through the Holy Spirit that urges us to actively collaborate in meeting the spiritual, emotional, psychological, physical and materialistic needs of people from infancy to late life (Acts 2:42–47).
THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT
Love God and love your neighbor. A love that is more practical than emotional (John 13:34, 35).
The Word
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
“In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him and without him was not anything made that was made“. John 1:1-3.
Many are led to believe that the Bible is the Word of God but Jesus Christ is the Word of God. He was God made flesh without ceasing to be God and His name Immanuel which means “God with us” is testament to his existence as the “I am.” The gospel of John depicts the true essence and character of Jesus Christ and was purposely written and inspired so that we may have hope for eternal life in our resurrected Savior while sustaining our faith, and may be a source of awakening, offering a new promise for those who do not believe. As Christians, our Mission is to blanket the world with the Word of God, so that those who are weary and lost may find their way and at the same time find rest in Him.
The greatest event of this world was the birth and death of Jesus Christ, the Word of God. He came, He lived, He died and He ascended from whence He came. “He was the light of this world but the world Knew Him not” and was rejected and despised. It is our Mission at CLD to continue the work of His disciples; share His love and His message of redemption and to walk in His paths of righteousness. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
Jesus chose His disciples as His followers and messengers; He taught them, sent them into the world to relay that message and He empowered, guided and directed them. Our purpose is to follow the path of the disciples as God’s ambassadors on earth, walking in His ways and His light. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
Our Beliefs
DOCTRINAL STANDARDS
As Christians associated together for the fellowship and service to glorify GOD, we formulate the following doctrines:
Exercise of Brotherhood
We believe in the exercise of brotherhood manifested in the investment of our support in all areas of life to each other as is described in Acts 2:42.
Old & New Testament
We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testament as inspired by GOD, and they are the final authority in faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 4:4). The Bible, the Word of GOD, is the foundation upon which its precepts are to guide the growth of the Church. We also deem it necessary that the Word of GOD be read by the congregation’s members every day, and to apply it to their personal lives. Twice a week the congregation is to hear a fresh Word from the Bible as the Church convenes Wednesday, Sunday and any other day or which the church comes together.
The Trinity
We believe in one GOD, eternally represented in three persons: FATHER, SON, and HOLY GHOST (John 14:26; Mark 1:10, 11; John 1:1, 14; Acts 5:3,4; Matthew 28:19).
Jesus Christ
We believe that JESUS CHRIST, the SON of GOD, was begotten by the HOLY GHOST and born of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:27-35).
Holy Spirit
We believe in the HOLY GHOST, ever present and active in and with the Church of Christ convicting the world of sin, regenerating those who repent, sanctifying believers and guiding into all truth as it is in JESUS CHRIST.
Image of God
We believe that man was created in the image of GOD; that he by voluntary transgression incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death, which is separation from GOD (Genesis 1:26,27; 1 Corinthians 15:22; 1 John 2:2; Romans 3:24-26,5:9; 11 Peter 3:9).
Died for Our Sins
We believe that the LORD JESUS CHRIST died for our sins according to the scriptures, the atonement through the propitiatory sacrifice of the son of God.
Baptism
We believe in the ordinance of Baptism, as commanded in the scripture, to be observed by all who have truly repented toward GOD and believingly received JESUS CHRIST as Savior and Lord (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3.4).
Lord's Supper
We believe the Lord’s Supper, a memorial of His suffering and death is enjoined to all believers “until He comes” (1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Luke 22:19,20). The Lord’s Table includes the breaking of the bread which is spiritually the word of GOD, as well as natural, the physical feeding, just as Jesus fed the multitude. “It is He who gives food to all flesh, for His mercy endures forever (Ps 136:25).”
Importance of Baptism
We believe that the Baptism in the Holy Ghost is the act of GOD subsequent to conversion, by which GOD initiates a personal relationship with the believer. The presence of the Holy Spirit in the individual’s life gives discernment, encouragement, counsel, and guidance (John 14:17; 1 Corinthians 14:26).
Body of Christ
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of GOD, through the Spirit, composed of all born again persons, whose names are written in the book of life (Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 12:13; John 3:3-7, 29; 1 Peter 1:23; Ephesians 5:23);.
Redemptive Work
We believe the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8:17; Mark 16:18).
Return of the Lord
We believe that the return of Lord for those who are His own is imminent and is the blessed hope of the Church (Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-6).
Obedience
We believe all who truly believe in and obediently follow JESUS CHRIST our Lord shall live forever in heaven and all who persistently reject CHRIST and His salvation shall be consigned to everlasting punishment (Revelation 20:7-15;21;1-8).
Marriage
We believe in the institution of marriage as designed by GOD the Creator to be a lifelong union between one man and one woman, and that GOD hates divorce, (Genesis 2:18, 20-24; 1 Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 13:4; Malachi 2:14-16; Mathew 19:1-6). We do not recognize and will not solemnize same-sex marriages. We recognize that same-sex marriage violates the divine ideal and the homosexual behavior is clearly and consistently condemned in scripture as unnatural and immoral (Leviticus 18:1-30; Genesis 19:5, 13; Romans 1:26-32).
God's Love
We believe in the full application of GOD’s love to each other through goods sharing, emotional support, mercy, help, discipline, exhortation, encouragement and fellowship.
Lord's Table
We believe the Lord’s Table includes the breaking of the bread which is spiritually the word of GOD, as well as natural, the physical feeding, just as Jesus fed the multitude. “It is He who gives food to all flesh, for His mercy endures forever (Ps 136:25).”
Word of God
We believe the Bible, the Word of GOD, is the foundation upon which its precepts are to guide the growth of the Church. We also deem it necessary that the Word of GOD be read by the congregation’s members every day, and to apply it to their personal lives. Twice a week the congregation is to hear a fresh Word from the Bible as the Church convenes Wednesday, Sunday and any other day or which the church comes together.
